I AM A SPIRITUAL GANGSTER

Tia Blanco Jenner

You often hear professional athletes emphasize the importance of discipline—training the mind, exercising the body, perfecting the craft. But what about the spirit? That’s where pro-surfer Tia Blanco Jenner’s joy disciplines come into play.

Certified Spiritual Gangster

Equal parts power and grace, Tia's high-performance surfing earned her back-to-back gold medals in the ISA Open Women’s World Surfing Championship in 2015 and 2016. Beyond her impressive surf ranking, we also hear she’s #1 Mom to her daughter Honey and her second, expected Fall 2026 with her husband Brody. Lifelong surfer, yogi, artist, entrepreneur, and mother, Tia Blanco Jenner embodies the truest essence of a Spiritual Gangster in mind, body, and spirit.

Together, we’re introducing Summer Chapter 01: The Internal Sunshine Edit to honor the practices that nourish her inner radiance and invite you to tune your soul to a higher frequency.

Tia's Got Internal Sunshine

Tia Blanco Jenner knows that what fills you is what flows from you, so she ensures it’s pure sunshine pouring from her into the lives of her family and community. But she would be the first to tell you: joy isn’t her default, it’s her discipline. Where joy is the rhythm, Internal Sunshine is the result. It’s her joy disciplines—time spent in nature, in movement, in stillness—that cultivate Tia’s radical presence, gratitude, power, love, and peace.

"Joy, for me, is a practice. It’s not something I chase. It’s something I return to—again and again. I return to the ocean, to the sun on my skin, to the rhythm of my breath. I return to movement that wakes me up, and stillness that brings me home. I return to the earth—not just as a place, but as a relationship. These are my joy disciplines: the simple rituals that bring me back into my body and back into myself."

How do you reconnect with your internal sunshine?

"Getting outside resets everything for me! Whether it’s a dip in the ocean for a surf or to just get in the water or just staring at some trees, it brings me back to what’s real and simple."

"To live this way—grounded, grateful, strong but open—that’s what it means to me to be a Spiritual Gangster. It’s honoring the planet. Honoring our joy. Honoring ourselves."

Triple Taurus: As Down-to-Earth as It Gets

"When I’m outside, I remember who I am. I remember that I’m part of something intelligent and alive. The waves teach me to trust timing. The wind reminds me to soften. The ground beneath my feet reminds me to stay rooted. Nature isn’t separate from my spiritual practice—it is my spiritual practice. It’s my joy practice. It’s where I feel clear. Supported. Connected."

"The more I care for the earth, the more I feel it caring for me, holding me, feeding me. Returning me to balance. Returning me to joy."

"Nature isn’t separate from my spiritual practice—it is my spiritual practice. It’s my joy practice."

Motherhood, in the Moment

What’s something people don’t know about you that feels important to who you are?

"I’m deeply intuitive and sensitive, and I’ve learned to see that as a strength—it guides both my creativity and how I move through motherhood."

What are the joy disciplines you live by as a mother?

"Slowing down, staying present, and letting go of perfection. I love letting Honey lead and am always enamored by her ability to always be in the present moment no matter what."

Where Softness Meets Strength

What does it mean to you to be a Spiritual Gangster?

"It's a little softness met with a little edge! To me, whether I am doing yoga or surfing, I have always aspired to be graceful, yet powerful! When strength, authenticity & peace are combined, that to me is being a spiritual gangster!"

"Moving through the world with love at the center—that’s the practice. That’s the discipline, the power, the joy."
