Hungry for knowledge and thirsty for new experience, we give before we take and plant seeds of abundance wherever life’s journeys take us. With gratitude and creativity, the Spiritual Gangster is an agent of radical inspiration, positivity, and purpose.

WHAT'S IN A NAME? EVERYTHING.

In 1999, recovering lawyer turned yoga teacher, Ian Lopatin, opened a studio in Arizona where he played hip hop music in his classes and attracted a great line-up of students and teachers. Years later, after one of his signature classes, a student came up to him and said, “You know what, you’re like a gangster—a spiritual gangster.” His wife, Vanessa, looked at Ian and said, “Let’s put that on a shirt."

From that moment, a brand—and more than that, a movement—was born. That's why the OG Shop is core to who we are at SG—our North Star, our constant. These namesake styles are where it all started.
