THE EQUINOX MEETS LIBRA
Your Autumn Equinox Invitation: Balance
What do yin and yang, Libra, and the equinox have in common? They represent opposites in harmony. With the Autumn Equinox on September 22 and the Sun entering Libra on September 23, this week brings an opportunity for awakening. While both shifts focus on bringing harmony, Libra emphasizes connection and community, while the equinox asks you to find balance through reflection and introspection.
In celebration of September's celestial events, Dr. Felice Chan, Co-founder of Moonbow, is sharing her insights on finding balance and harmony in her background in Traditional Chinese Medicine (and life as a twin!)
Yin and Yang in Balance
In Chinese medicine, everything in life flows from the dance between Yin and Yang. These dual forces are opposite yet interdependent, constantly shifting to maintain balance in nature, in our bodies, and in our relationships. As co-founders of Moonbow and as twin sisters, Heather and I embody this concept in the most personal way. Our twin bond reflects the balance at the core of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where contrast doesn’t mean conflict, but harmony.

Our Twin Yin Yang Dynamic
Though we came into this world together, Heather and I are very different, and that difference is our strength.
I’m Felice, a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, grounded in Los Angeles. My days are often quiet and intentional. I love slow mornings, time in nature with my husband and our pup, nourishing rituals, and connecting deeply with patients. I lean into Yin: calm, introspective, nurturing, and rooted.
Heather, my twin, brings the perfect Yang energy. She has a background in private equity and lives in New York City, thriving in the energy of movement, conversations, and quick decision-making. She’s lit up by brainstorming with founders, late dinners with friends, and visioning what’s next. She’s social, strategic, and moves fast.
Together, we’ve built Moonbow, a brand that lives at the intersection of our twin energies. My world brings softness, healing, and Eastern wisdom. Heather brings clarity, structure, and a fire that fuels our forward momentum. Her meticulous eye and business instincts help ground my vision, while my clinical insight and intuition help deepen hers.
It’s this twin yin yang energy that makes our co-founder dynamic so unique and so aligned with Moonbow’s mission of balance, inside and out.
What Twinship Teaches Us About Balance
Heather and I often say that we see from two lenses, one grounded in ancient medicine, the other shaped by years in high-level business. As twin sisters and co-founders, we constantly calibrate. When one of us is in visionary mode, the other brings discernment. When one is moving fast, the other pauses to check in.
Being twins doesn’t mean being identical. It means sharing a root system, but branching in different directions. Yin and Yang are born from the same source, but take different forms. That’s the essence of what we’ve created in Moonbow, products and practices that help you reconnect with your own inner rhythm, while honoring that balance looks different for everyone.
Honoring the Autumn Equinox:
A Season of Letting Go
The Autumn Equinox marks the moment when day and night are equal. In TCM, this is the season of the Metal Element, governed by the Lungs and Large Intestine, which teach us about breath, boundaries, and release. It’s a powerful reminder to slow down, turn inward, and let go of what’s no longer serving us.
Moonbow Equinox Rituals
— Ear Seeding: I support Lung Qi and immunity by placing tiny seeds on auricular points like Shen Men and Lung
— Gua Sha or Acupuncture: To clear emotional stagnation and support seasonal transitions
— Evening Journaling: I reflect on what I’m ready to release and what I want to call in
— Pear and Goji Tea: To moisten the lungs and nourish Yin as dryness increases
— Daily Walks or Qi Gong: Movement that reflects the grace of falling leaves, light and grounded
Your Fall Invitation
As we move into the season of metal, reflection, and refinement, we invite you to notice where your Yin and Yang are asking to be rebalanced. Do you need more space or more structure? More quiet or more momentum?
May you feel inspired to soften, to release, and to return to yourself.
With love and twin intuition,
Dr. Felice ChanCo-Founder, Moonbow
