SELF-CARE GUIDE

Fill Your Cup, Overflow in Community

In honor of Self-Care Day (Mark your calendar for July 24!), we’re sharing tips from our community on their favorite practices that cultivate self-love, inner peace, and ultimately allow them to show up more fully for their own communities.

Inspiring Daily Rhythms of Self-Love

Return to Your Self-Care Rituals

Self-Care Day is our annual calendar reminder to reset and recommit to the rituals that ground us. Not to enjoy them on July 24th alone, but to reintegrate them into our daily schedules. No how or when you practice self-care, remember to prioritize practices that require mindful presence, bring joy and delight, and cultivate an energy shift toward love, peace, and openness.

Mindful Meditation & Journaling

Join Holistic Wellness Guide, Sydney Burger, in creating space for a few moments of mindful journaling. Follow along with her video and meditate on the thoughtful questions below to check-in with yourself—discovering what lies beneath the noise of daily tasks, responsibilities, and anxieties. When we realign our systems, we bring balance and harmony to the mind, body, and spirit, and ultimately reach closer to the highest self.

Chakra-Aligning Journal Prompts

Inspired by the Within Me Graphic, @sydneyrburger leads us through journal prompts to realign our inner energy centers:

  • Third-eye Chakra & Crown Chakra: What vision or dream have I been scared to commit to or say outloud? What vision or dream is trying to come through to me?
  • Root Chakra: What are the practices that make me feel at home within myself? Grounded, peaceful, calm. Write those down and schedule them on your calendar this week.
  • Sacral Chakra & Solar Plexus Chakra: What is one risk I’m ready to take for my future self this week?

Restorative Skincare

“To me, skincare is more than just products on skin. It's a ritual that reminds me I'm worth slowing down for. It’s the yin to my yang, a quiet, nourishing pause in a go-go-go world. And because our skin is a mirror of our internal health, tuning in to it is a beautiful way to check in with how I’m really doing,” says Dr. Felice Chan, Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.

Inspired by her own skincare-as-self-care routine, Felice reminds us that self-care can be any practice that is done with presence, clears space energetically and emotionally, and allows you to show up with more clarity, energy, and generosity.

She says “In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), everything has energy, including our words and thoughts. So yes, I literally say "I love you" to myself in the mirror. It might sound cheesy, but I believe self-love is a form of medicine. When we nurture ourselves with compassion, we refill our cup and create more capacity to care for others. That’s the ripple effect of self-love.”

Your Self-Care Invitation

Inspired by her work in TCM, Felice reminds us that stillness and joy can be as healing as any other practice or self-care regimen:

  • Write down 10 things that bring you joy but aren’t tied to productivity. Then pick one and actually do it.

"Maybe it’s taking 5 minutes to do your skincare slowly. Maybe it’s walking barefoot in the grass to reconnect with Earth Qi. Whatever it is, let it be a nervous system reset. In TCM, we always return to nature to find balance."

Reigniting Creativity

Practicing creativity as a form of nourishing self-care, Coura Fall—creative, artist, model, and beyond—reminds us to explore practices that feel boundless and expressive—ones that you can engage without rules or limitations.

Aligned with the ancient practice of self-expression, Coura creates art as a way to reignite her inner child, spark joy, and return to her truest self. From coloring to sketching to storytelling, her time creating art grounds her mental and spiritual well-being.

Coura’s tip: incorporate mico-practices of self-care into your daily or weekly rhythm. By attaching these to your practice, you’ll find extra whimsy and joy in even the most basic practices. Take it from her: “Rituals that help me feel creatively aligned are making tea, getting one of my favorite snacks and most importantly going out to lay in the SUN.”
