POSE OF THE DAY: NATARAJASANA

Take a moment and try Spiritual Gangster’s pose of the day, Natarajasana. The Lord of the Dance pose helps stretch the shoulders, chest, thighs, groin, and abdomen, as well as improving balance and strengthening the legs and ankles.
1.)Stand in Tadasana. On an inhale, shift your weight onto your right foot. Then lift your left heel backwards towards your buttock, bending the knee.
2.) Press your right thigh back, deepening into the hip joint. Remember to keep the standing leg straight and strong.
3.) Reach back with your left hand and grasp the outside of your left foot or ankle. Remember to breathe deeply into the pose.
4.) Begin to lift your left foot up, away from the floor and away from your torso.
5.) Extend the left thigh behind you and parallel to the floor. Stretch your right arm forward, in front of your torso, parallel to the floor.
6.) Hold the pose from anywhere between 20 and 60 seconds. Breathe deeply, and repeat on the opposite side.
